Abandoned Theme Parks

1. I would choose to go and visit the abandoned theme park in Prypiat, Ukraine because it has a very interesting history to it. The people who lived in this city were evacuated on April 26, 2986 due to nuclear disasters when a power plant exploded. The people had no choice but to leave the area for their own safety, also leaving behind this theme park. Its now a sad and lonely place as grass is growing over everything and the rides are rusty. I feel like these photos would be interesting since the area was abandoned for "dangerous" reasons, adding that extra edge to it. The snowy scenery is just a bonus.

3.
  • a haunted house
  • a place where a crater hit
  • an island
  • a volcano
  • a desert - Death Valley

4.
This is a giant fire crater in Darvaz.

5. Craters are interesting to me in general and I find this one super fascinating because first of all, its a crater! And also its on fire. I would expect to get real close up shots that show the smoke and texture of the crater.

6. Well first, I would need a passport to fly all the way to Darvaz. I'm not sure what kind of camera I need but something with a good zoom because I can't get too close to the actual crater. I'm not sure if I'm actually able to visit this spot and take pictures so hopefully its open to the public. I think the plane and traveling ticket would be the most cost, along with food and a hotel.

Funny Captions

Little Roscoe sits and guards his food bowl in his home in Austin while his owner makes a trip to the animal shelter to bring him home a new puppy friend. Little Roscoe has had a history of scaring off any new comers into the house, marking his territory.

Baby Joe sits in the mess that was self created this afternoon during his first birthday party where the main dish being served was spaghetti. Baby Joe has always had a habit of dressing himself in this meal rather than eating it the proper way.

Annie sits in the middle of a walkway and reads the latest paper while she waits for the mailman to come and deliver her a package containing her new adult sized chair. The week before, she came to a conclusion that it was time for her to grow up and become a big girl, using her toy doll's chair one last time before it was time to retire it.

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3

1. Gordon Park's photos really stood out to me because they didn't only show photos of real life, but you can tell that there was a story behind every picture.

2.
You see the struggle that people experienced back in the day, especially if they were living in the lower classes. I smell an unsanitary scene as if I am really there. I hear the motivational boost to be a successful individual during a tough time. I taste the strive for success and a bright future. And lastly, I feel sorrow, yet hope, for those you fight for a better future and justice to prove those who doubt.

I also see the strive to provide for the weak ones that we love, giving sacrifices. I smell the strong stench of unsanitary bodies that have no choice. I hear the desperate cries and prayers of the ones who need a miracle and help. I taste the tears for those who suffer. And I feel grief and hurt for those who fight to live through everyday.

3. I like the idea of displaying posters with some of Gordon Parks artwork. We could include his actual photos with little descriptions and captions that explain the story behind these pictures that explain why he took these photos.

Academic Shoot Reflection

1. I think that lines was probably the hardest thing to do. But even though there are many different categories, it was pretty simple.
2. The focus was probably my main concern, I get annoyed when something isn't focused.
3. I would get more unique picture rather than the typical and simple ones.
4. I really think I handled the camera well.
5. Simplicity and thirds.
6. Lines
7. I think the mergers is still a little tricky to me.

Mural

1. I think a good idea for a theme would be school spirit where we make a mural with all the school activities that goes on around the school.
2. I think all cameras should be acceptable because if someone doesn't have one, they'll have another.
3. At the entrance of the school so everybody could see it when they walk in.

Lines

1. i did okay, the lines don't point anywhere but they create a tunnel like view.
2. the subject is the poles making a walkway.
3. yes, they can see the view that i see.
4. i could have found a different picture with lines that led to something.

Africa Black and White Powerpoint

1. All of these pictures were amazing, I love the black and white theme and all of the animal pictures were very close up and detailed. The photos all seemed to express the beauty of nature and animal life.

2.

3. I really love this picture of the elephants because it shows how they act as a family and travel orderly in a pack. The focus on the big elephant thats taking the lead followed by the many others on the back has a really nice effect to it. Annnd I love elephants.

4A. Pextax 67 II with 120 film

4B. So he can show and use these photos in a way to stop the killing of wildlife for money.

4C. To help prevent and stop the killing of wildlife.

4D. "Africa is Africa because of the animals there. The elephants, lions, giraffes, cheetah, rhinos - they are all iconic creatures that exert a powerful, deep emotional and mythical hold over our imaginations."

NEXT:

1. I think we should do a theme of outside school activities that would inspire more people to participate in. We should include all the sports groups, after school activities, and out of school events.
2. I think we should allow any kind of phone. If someone doesn't have a camera, then they can have the other option of using the camera on their phone.
3. We should put this mural near the entrance of the school so we can display it to everyone who comes in and leaves the school. Its a popular entrance so everyone would be able to see it.

Favorite Photo

1. I chose the picture of the two football players on the ground supporting one of their teammates who probably got injured. I really like this because it shows the closeness of the players and their compassion for eachother as if they were all a true family.
2. They used the thirds rule and really focused on the 3 football players.

1. Probably in a science class room on on the field or court where a sports game is going on.
2. Anywhere in the gym.
3. Follow the rules of photography and focus on the quality of the picture and angle and position of the subject.

Most Interesting Stuff

I chose this one to be filled with the most interesting because you see many people in this photo. The color and tone of this photo also soothes the picture and somehow blends it all together, making it into one nice filled picture.

Action or Emotion

I chose this one as best action because the picture was captured in the middle of an explosion of a experiment. There's a lot action that's caught up in the moment, including the girls' faces.

Best Story

I chose this as the best story because you can obviously see teens helping out and serving food. I'm guessing its for some sort of a charity where they're putting in volunteer hours to help out.

Post Shoot Reflection

1) It was kind of tricky to get these photos because I didn't want to just get the first red, medal, or happy picture I saw because it wouldn't have been original.

2) I focused mainly on how to focus the picture. I would half press the button to focus it.

3) I would focus on the thirds rule.

4) I really liked the actual pictures that I took.

5) GO TO OTHER POST.

6) Yes i would like to do this again because I actually know how to take better quality photos this time.
